MARINAIR offers definite advantages. It will permit the traffic load to be spread over 24 hours per day and 365 days a year. It can be accommodated within the air traffic control systems now operated by the CAA.
It has been noted that the Thames Estuary is currently a critical and congested area for Air Traffic Control where movements could conflict with adjoining European systems. It has also been noted that
"with time the air traffic control system can be re-designed and any problems resolved."
The MARINAIR programme allows time and will contribute finance for such re-design.
